Diocesan Pilgrimage to Emmitsburg

On October 7, the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, over 1,300 from the Diocese of Arlington joined Bishop Burbidge on a pilgrimage to the National Shrine of Elizabeth Ann Seton and the National Shrine Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes.

Bishop Burbidge celebrated Mass and offered a homily, wherein he encouraged the faithful to imitate Our Lady’s docility and willingness to do the will of God even when it is most difficult.

Mary, Explained

During our second year of preparation for our diocesan Golden Jubilee, Bishop Burbidge has invited us to look at Mary and imitate her example of receiving the Word and bearing the Word into the world.

To imitate Mary, it is helpful to understand what the Church teaches about who she is. In this 7-part video series, we will hear from religious, priests, and lay faithful from our diocese explain the theology, traditions, and devotions about Our Lady.
