KING GEORGE, Va. – A one-hundred-and-two-year-old church in King George County is getting a new parish hall.

Saint Anthony of Padua Mission Church, located at 10299 Millbank Road, celebrated its 100th year in 2017. In 1972, Saint Anthony Mission Hall was built, but because the parish is growing, it’s being replaced with a new one. Father Francis de Rosa, pastor of the church, says he needed to double the capacity of the parish hall in addition to adding meeting rooms, a bigger kitchen and new bathrooms. “This is a great moment in the history of Saint Anthony’s. It says we are here to stay and are burgeoning. The building will be an elegant Neo-Georgian edifice that will grace the tiny hamlet of King George,” he adds.

The new hall will be ready in June.
