Bishop Burbidge's Statement of Thanks to Father Eugenio Hoyos

For the past 16 years Father Eugenio Hoyos has generously served as the Director of our diocesan Office of Hispanic Apostolate. As Father Hoyos leaves that office, I take this opportunity to express my gratitude for all his good work.

In his years as Director our Diocese has experienced a great increase in our Hispanic communities. Under his leadership the Office assisted our parishes with marriage preparation, catechesis, young adult ministry, the charismatic renewal, and ongoing adult formation for the Hispanic community. Father Hoyos has also led our diocesan participation in the V Encuentro sponsored by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. He has also shown himself a true pastor to and advocate for Hispanic immigrants and the many Hispanic Covid-19 victims.

In gratitude for his efforts and work, please keep Father Hoyos in your prayers as he takes a sabbatical to address health concerns and for ongoing formation. Through the intercession of Mary, Our Mother, may the Lord Jesus bless and reward him for his good work.
